Brown Bullhead – Catfish

Brown bullhead, also known as catfish, can be found in almost every bay and river in Toronto. Often found along the bottom, scavenging for food, almost any bait can be used to catch them. The most commonly used bait is worms. Catfish are mostly caught by anglers fishing for basssunfish, or perch. When caught, be sure not to touch the spines of the catfish as they inject poison through their spines. Also, be equipped with pliers, as the hook is commonly swallowed by this species.

Brown Bullhead also can get very large in size and love marshy weedy areas. They can also be caught all year and are almost in every body of water.
