Creek Chub are fairly easy catches in the locations they are in. This is due to their decent-sized mouths and their habit of traveling in large, dense schools. In these large schools, when found, they provide great action. Creek Chub is abundant through Toronto waters. For bait, worms are very effective, as well as corn on smaller hooks. Creek Chub will steer clear of Salmon and trout on their journey upriver, making it difficult to catch these fish at this time. Many people do use Creek Chub as bait for salmon and trout when they travel upriver. Casting in shaded areas is an excellent spot for Creek Chub.
